Next Quarter Preview:
Winter Wednesdays
(Wednesday Night YREs)

Mid-week, mid-winter blahs.

Wake up!  With a brisk walk, good friends, and incredible nighttime views of Seattle.

During January, February and March, ECW will host a Wednesday night YRE on the night after our regular Tuesday monthly meetings.  Each of these three special walks are spectacular by night -- you won't want to miss them.

We will meet at the walk start.  Come 5-10 minutes early.  The walk will leave
promptly at 5:30.  Bring your flashlight!

Jan 16  Seattle Queen Anne walk (YRE 054)

This walk by F.S. Family Wanderers offers gorgeous views nearly the entire route, from overlooks of Fremont to Puget Sound and the lighted ferries, to up-close vistas of Seattle Center and downtown.  We'll also be passing by the most spectacular mansions in Seattle.  This walk is rated a 2+.

Walk start:  The Seattle Inn, 225 Aurora Ave. N. (near Denny).
I-5: Exit #167 (Mercer St). Left on Fairview Ave N. Right on Denny Way. Right on 6th Ave N. Right on John St. Seattle Inn is on left

Feb 20  West Seattle Alki Beach walk  (YRE 655)

This West Seattle walk by the ESVA came highly recommended as one of the best nighttime walks in Seattle.  Nearly the entire walk offers views of the downtown Seattle nightscape, Puget Sound and glowing ferries as you walk next to the West Seattle beach.  This walk is rated a 1.

Walk start:  7-11 Store, 2429 Harbor Ave SW.
I-5: Northbound exit #163/southbound exit #163A (West Seattle Freeway/Spokane St). Proceed across West Seattle Bridge to Harbor Ave (not Harbor Island) and turn right. 7-11 is one mile on left. Use on street parking.

Mar 20  Lake Washington walk (YRE 1561)

This walk by Mercer Island Volkssport Club passes through gorgeous neighborhoods in Mt. Baker, with some views overlooking Lake Washington, before descending the hill to walk right along the lake on a pedestrian trail for the majority of the walk.  Lapping water and views of the lights across the lake make this an engaging night walk.  This walk is rated a 2.

Walk start:  Chevron Station, 2802 Rainier Ave S. I-90: Eastbound exit #3/westbound exit #3A (Rainier Ave S). Right at Rainier Ave S and go south 1 mi to S McClelland St. Chevron Station is on SE corner across from Eagle Hardware.
