Emerald City Wanderers is planning a club bus trip to spend 3 days walking in central Washington. The highlights of the trip will be walks at Steamboat Rock State Park and Grand Coulee Dam (pictured above).
The Itinerary: Saturday, Apr 27: Bus leaves Seattle at 7am, walk Steamboat Rock State Park event (put on by Four-Plus Foolhardy Folks) Sunday, Apr 28: Bus leaves hotel at 8am for FPFF Canyon event (optional walk) 1 p.m. Coulee Dam YRE (10K, rated a 2) Group Dinner Monday, Apr 29: Bus leaves hotel at 8am for Winthrop Walk Winthrop YRE (11K, rated 2) Lunch in Winthrop or optional Winthrop bike YRE (25K, rated 3) Head back to Seattle via spectacular North Cascades Pass, 5pm est arrival
The Highlights: The Grand Coulee Dam YRE is new this year, offered by a new Coulee Dam club. This is a spectacular and interesting walk around and across the top of the Dam. It includes three counties (Grant, Douglas and Okanogan).
The Steamboat Rock State Park walk has gotten rave reviews. The walk is uphill at first, walking up to the top of Steamboat Rock, then the walk levels out and explores the top of this intriguing natural formation with incredible views of the Columbia River.
Hotel: The hotel Saturday and Sunday nights is the Columbia River Inn, a AAA hotel across from Coulee Dam visitor center.
Cost: The cost of the trip will be the shared bus expenses and hotel rooms. Meals will be paid for separately. The current estimated cost of the trip is $195 per person for a single room and $125 per person if sharing a double room.
